2CS FM Newcastle Permanent Give Me Five For Kids

Each year during June, we proudly raise much needed funds for our local Children Ward at the Coffs Coast Health Campus. With YOUR support, 2012 is going to be the best yet!

Our fundraising efforts help to provide important medical equipment assistng in helping seriously ill children.
The key to our success is that ALL money raised locally – stays local.

Thanks to OUR community & the dedicated fundraising efforts of the team, we have been able to supply the hospitals with a range of equipment to help out the kids of our community!

Our Wishlist

The following is what we are raising money for through June for 2CS FM Newcastle Permanent Give Me Five For Kids

ISTAT MACHINE - Valued at $12,000.

The ISTAT machine compliments the respiratory support equipment during episodes of acute severe respiratory distress by enabling instant analysis of blood gases. Blood gas results inform the medical staff about the current status of respiratory compromise. Having this information available enables the medical staff to accurately assess the severity of the childs respiratory illness, and will minimise the risk of further  respiratory deterioration.

BIRDS BLENDER - Valued at $3,000 each
2CS FM Newcastle Permament Give Me Five For Kids is hoping to raise enough cash for five.

The blenders are used to accurately mix oxygen and air together in a precise mix. This enables clinicians to effectively and safely manage infants with severe and potentially life threatening respiratory compromise. The blenders are used with  the warmed humidified oxygen therapy system.

Currently we use oxygen tubing to mix the flow of medical gases which can result in the  delivery  of  inexact mixture of gases. The benefits of having the blenders which are the  latest technology to deliver medical gases,  would mean we can safely and accurately deliver medical gasses required for acutely unwell babies & children requiring respiratory support.

All the funds will be going towards Give Me Five For Kids and is a fantastic way to wrap up the month!

The play is a unique, imaginative theatre piece which, in the words of the author, A.R. Gurney 'needs no theatre, no lengthy rehearsal, no special set, no memorization of lines and no commitment from its two actors beyond the night of the performance'. The piece is comprised of letters exchanged over a lifetime between two people who grew up together, went their separate ways but continued to share confidences. The story will be played out by Kelly McLoughlin-Wilden (My Husbands Wild Desires Almost Drove Me Mad) and Mark Conaghan (Monty Python's Spamalot – Melbourne).

Tickets are just $20 with all money going towards Give Me Five For Kids. Tickets can be purchased from the Jetty Theatre Box Office or online at www.jettytheatre.com.au
